In 1998, three childhood friends—Dhanush Sawant (also known as Dodo), Pratik Garodia (nicknamed Pinku), and Ayush Gupta—dream of going to Goa after their board examinations. However, due to their parents’ reluctance, they are unable to fulfill their dream. In 2003, they once again plan the trip after their graduation. Unfortunately, their car meets with an accident at the start of their journey, and the plan is put on hold once more.
Years later, Pinku moves to Cape Town, while Ayush migrates to New York. Both achieve success and become wealthy. Meanwhile, Dodo struggles to find a steady job. He keeps in touch with Pinku and Ayush on social media and sees their lavish lifestyles. To impress them, Dodo uses Photoshop to create a false image of himself living in a penthouse.
In 2015, Pinku and Ayush decide to fly down to Mumbai. They inform Dodo and plan to stay at his “penthouse.” Dodo suggests that they fulfill their original plan of going to Goa as soon as they land. Since Dodo can’t afford expensive flight tickets, he books three tickets on the Madgaon Express train, pretending they are traveling as they would have in 2003.
